The CNMV’s Plan for the Simplification of Supervisory Actions (the Plan) aims to improve the efficiency of the supervisory framework, reduce administrative burdens and promote proportionality.

Simplifying the regulatory and supervisory framework in securities markets is one of the strategic priorities set out in the document 'CNMV 2030: A supervisor for a new era'.

The Plan outlines the first two of the six pillars that make up the simplification strategy:

  • A ten-point simplification framework: guiding principles for supervisory actions

  • 31 initiatives affecting supervised entities that aim to reduce unnecessary burdens and support more agile, risk-based supervision

  • Enhanced internal operational efficiency

  • Digital transformation (the HELIX Project)

  • National legislative proposals

  • Participation in European regulatory initiatives
