The Conference of the Parties (COP), also known as the The United Nations Climate Change Conference, is the world's largest UN event for discussions and negotiations on climate change.

The COP30, the 30th session of this conference, will be held from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.

With global temperatures reaching record levels and extreme weather events affecting people all around the world, the COP30 plans to bring together leaders from governments, international organisations, the private sector and the civil society to find specific solutions to the most pressing challenge of our time.

The main COP30 topics will be aligning climate financing commitments from both developed and developing countries, ensuring compatibility between emission reduction objectives and climate science, and addressing the socioeconomic impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.

The COP30 is organised around three major areas:

  • Blue Zone: UN's official zone, hosting high-level meetings and negotiations between countries.

  • Green Zone: open public space, holding events, exhibitions and arranged debates by non-governmental organisations, companies and academics.

  • Side events: forums, technical meetings and arranged panels by a range of institutions and stakeholders.

The CNMV is channelling its efforts in revitalising companies' use of capital markets, so that the Spanish economy can successfully transition to a more sustainable economy. For this purpose, the CNMV is playing a leading role in international regulation in this area.
